What Disillusioned But Not Defeated Looks Like For KTB
If you’re reading something like this, chances are you’re either a regular at Killing The Breeze (thank you), or you’re searching for information. You spend time every day following daily events and listening to statements in an effort to make sense of it all.
Conversely, a large portion of Americans gather little real information, receiving what they do get from self selecting, bias reinforcing social media and internet, at the top and bottom of the hour on the radio, the evening alphabet network news, or the local newspaper. If you’re someone who takes time every day to sift, you may tend to think its quite common to do when in fact it’s not.
The truth is our biggest enemy isn’t terrorists, immigrants or refugees. It’s apathy and it will spell the end of our Republic. You can expect what you inspect and the electorate is doing a poor job of inspection. Domestic and foreign policy are simply not on the radar screen of most people who vote.
Disillusioned But Not Defeated
Our hope is the many voters whom are turning 18 every year. Their lack of life experience but their total and complete ability to be immersed in the past, present and future thanks to the internet and social media allows them the ability and gives them the desire to question everything.
Politicians and certain media know that older voters are more ignorant. They can tailor messages, which are typically dishonest, misleading or simply outright lies, to a largely unmotivated electorate. This is exactly what Killing The Breeze aims to stop in getting news and information that is not only factual and transparent, but also in providing products and services: that allow voters to understand their role in and the role of government (KTB University), that will allow citizens to broadcast and publish their own messages across the internet and social media (KTB Media), and finally tools that will make anyone more attractive in the marketplace (KTB Career Services).
The sentiment of negativity surrounding the future of the country is palpable. Killing The Breeze is certainly disillusioned with the rhetoric and actions that happen everyday, but we will never be defeated in enacting change that empowers people both within society and allowing them to change society..
