Weezy Attacks Birdman in New Young Money Cypher Video
The Lil Wayne vs. Birdman saga continues, as he, along with fellow Young Money affiliated members, put out a cypher video set in a skate park (similar to those you see in the BET hip hop award shows) where Weezy takes verbal shots at the man he used to refer to as his father – Baby, AKA Birdman. Wayne and crew dropped the video without warning. Other artists like “Flow” get a turn to spit, but let’s be real here: we’re all just interested in what Wayne had to say.
Where Is Weezy’s Head At?
Extremely animated and extraordinarily impressed by his own bars, Wayne shows a rejuvenated passion for his lyrical craft. However, during Wayne’s five minute long verse, the general of Young Money only opens his eyes for about a total of 3 seconds. And maybe that’s being generous. Seemingly under the influence of codeine/lean/promethazine or whatever the kids call it these days, “The Martian” is on another planet throughout the entire segment. On the one hand it’s great to see some passion out of Wayne, but let’s not forget Weezy started his “lean movement” around ’06-’07 when he was indeed an unstoppable force in hip hop. Eight years and a few life threatening seizures later, Wayne appeared to have lost his way.
But his lyrical barbs for Baby were on point.
Weezy Attacks Birdman
Throughout the cypher Weezy Baby does a stellar job exhibiting clever wordplay and flow. With lines like, “I’m so sorry for the wait/weight like SlimFast” it’s safe to say Wayne still got it. But the highlights were a few shots at Birdman, whom he’s been beefing with for months now, as he spits, “I say hit em up to my daddy b***h ass” and “blood all in the fucking baby food” – all obvious shots at Baby. With as far as he has fallen, hopefully his beef with Baby has ignited a fire in Wayne to come back with the same charisma he once had when Tha Carter III dropped in 2008.
