Wait Til You Hear KTB’s Plans For Syrian Refugees
Top European Union officials say all of the terrorists in the Paris attack were European Union citizens, but that bit of evidence hasn’t stopped the Bill The Butcher type nativism from thriving. America itself is a nation of immigrants, but when it comes to refugees, “fuck em” seems to be the prevailing sentiment at least in certain quarters. Funny enough, we are also a nation of people whose ancestors were brought here against their will.
Prior to the 1870s, there were no Federal immigration restrictions in peacetime. Anybody who wanted to come here could. The one glaring exception were enemy aliens in wartime. Throughout its history, the U.S. never welcomed immigrants or refugees from countries with which we were at war for it would be a great way for the enemy to infiltrate their agents.
I say we welcome refugees from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan because we’re already involved militarily in those countries. Those who oppose can get training and go with our troops to that part of the world. This way, people fleeing death and destruction can live and build here in the United States, and those who are worried about having to fight ISIS here can go fight them in Syria and Northern Iraq protecting the rest of us. Everybody wins.
America for Americanists
You’ll never confuse me with Senator Geary, but some of the finest Americans I have had the privilege of meeting are immigrants and refugees. I welcome anyone that wants to be an American to come to America and join me as my countryman.
In exchange, I suggest we deport one current citizen that despises Americanism for each new patriot we admit to this great nation. Americanism is defined as a belief in our laws as outlined by the U.S. Constitution, and the belief in changing those laws as outlined by it.
We could start making room for new Americans by deporting anti-Americanists calling for religious litmus tests for refugees fleeing the terrors that have beset their homelands as a result of ISIS. Those who want to establish federal departments establishing Judeo-Christian values would also be deported. These people would have their choice of the state they can go to that best matches their ideals. If this is too extreme, I am open for allow those who aren’t Americanists to remain here but without citizenship privileges. Afterall, they’ll never believe in what America is all about.
