The Top MCs of 2013
Our panel consisted of yours truly Kwaisi France, hip hop enthusiasts Arian Prelvukaj and Stephan Umlauf, rappers Adrian Lau, Trap Ciudad, and Alpsko, model/photographer Antonella Alberti, professional poker player Asher Conniff, and musical television personality Nadeska Alexis who acted as moderator. We each comprised our top 10 list with the number of points corresponding to slots in reverse order. So being rated 10 was worth 1 point, 9 was worth 2 points, 8 worth 3 points, etc. All of the points for each artist were then tabulated, and our list was then formed.

It’s clear from both the tenor of our discussion, and the comparison of our list to the one above that being successful in music is about much more nowadays than making good music. No matter how many great songs Chaz Van Queen, Dom O Briggs, Jinx Gulo, Kira Sohn, and others drop, what happens outside of the studio means just as much as what happens inside of it. We had a great deal of fun (as I’m sure you can tell) compiling our list. Let us know what you think or give us your Top 10 MCs of 2013 or, if you have heard enough already, 2014 thus far.
