The Donald Is The Heart of Conservatism 2015
As of this point, Donald Trump is immune from criticism. Apparently, he knows people better than they know themselves. If they are offended, they are weak, losers or stupid. Who wants to be considered any of those things by a famous rich guy with a hot young wife?
Those are The Donald’s supporters. Some might call them conservatives, but The Donald’s incoherent and contradictory rants show that they’re angry and willing to follow anyone saying anything they want to hear. While The Donald inherited his way to success, he’d have probably made a fortune off all the suckers fans who take his showmanship candidacy seriously.
The Donald
Don’t know the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas, nor who Ayman Al Zawahiri is? Neither does Trump, but I’d be equally uncomfortable with authorizing either one of you to engage militarily or diplomatically with them as Commander In Chief. Do you have advisors whose job description entails them speeding you up on those “minor” groups and people? The fact that they didn’t shows me all I need to know about the type of people you and Trump would appoint.
He doesn’t understand economics, trade, technology or manufacturing. He doesn’t understand the legislative process, the constitution, or who the key players in major conflicts are. He can’t “fix” our immigration problems because he doesn’t think he has to know anything about them. He’s right because the heart of conservatism doesn’t require him to.
The Heart of Conservatism
Conservatism says those things are unimportant. It believes in the ability of The Donald to find another General MacArthur or hire Mike Ditka. That’s the tough that’s wanted which is at worst equal to smart and at best Trumps it. The Donald deserves to be listened to because he obviously knows all of the answers. He’s rich; therefore, he’s a winner. Everyone else is fat and ugly which is why they aren’t as successful as he is.
Conservatism, at it’s heart, is an organized political tantrum. Most of its staunchest adherents act as children in need of discipline when it comes to the realities of poverty, racism, sexism, homophobia, and the environment.
Making America Great Again
His campaign slogan begs the question for who and from when? The Donald seems to think boastful and totally unrealistic promises with innovative ideas and intricate details such as “I’ll build a wall and make Mexico pay for it!”, “I’ll be so good on the military, it will make you head spin.” and my favorite “If I am elected, we’re going to win so much that you’ll get bored of winning” will be good enough. This is because he has convinced a large swath of the electorate he needs of his real slogan which seems to be “KICK OUT THE MEXICANS, BUILD A WALL, AND NOTHING ELSE” It seems ridiculously stupid, but it’s resonating with conservatives so……….
The thing I love Trump for, more than anything else, is what he’s inadvertently revealed about America and the conservative movement. An alarming number of people, even conservatives who I thought were generally smarter and more adult than most, are just as ridiculous as Trump himself.
