The Crucible 2016: Hillary at Salemghazi
I watched the entire Benghazi panel testimony of Hillary Clinton yesterday. This morning, conservative news outlets are running stories about what she blew, what she dodged, etc.
The rest of the media are running the clips. Clip after clip of Hillary Clinton being badgered like no witness since tobacco companies said there was no link between cigarettes and cancer. This was far worse than that. She was treated infinitely worse. I believe the country is going to react, and that it will be favorably towards her.
Congressional Inquiry?
That statement is now a question after yesterday. The original purpose was supposedly to find out what happened in the days, weeks and months before Benghazi; what happened during the event; and what happened afterwards — all with a view toward figuring out what steps were needed to be taken to prevent this from happening again. If the purpose was to prove “Hillary’s A Liar”, that’s a real problem because this wasn’t supposed to be a campaign event.
Here is what we found out: _______________
Salemghazi
Wrenching interviews with the family members of the victims. Clearly they are angry. They have lost loved ones, and now have the benefit of knowing that the Obama administration likely spun the story during the heat of the campaign for political purposes, so as not to be said to have suffered a terrorist attack. We already knew that; and more importantly, how will that make sure steps are taken that it never happens again?
Family members are being interviewed to show their suspicions being vindicated. And this is why the focus is on proving Hillary a liar. The larger part of the story, namely, that this was supposed to be a hearing to help make sure Benghazi never happens again and it was patently structured and carried out as a hearing to bring down Hillary Clinton can’t be covered by those same outlets. Watch and compare this hearing it to previous ones and see for yourself.
Voters
This will seep in among independent voters as they become aware throughout the ensuing months that this was a witch hunt. The picture is coming together. Between Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s statements on the purpose of the panel being to drive her pole numbers down to Republican Representative Richard Hanna’s statements on this being strictly political in combination with the spectacle of yesterday, it’s pretty clear.
From these hearings, conservatives will conclude that Hillary Clinton is an awful Secretary of State, a liar, and unfit to be president. The problem is that was never supposed to be the purpose of this congressional inquiry. This hearing was structured and executed in a way as to not promote the objective of finding out what could be done. There were no facts adduced that could help prevent another attack other than “Don’t allow people like Hillary or Obama near the reins of power.”
Hillary For The Win
That ended up being a 10 hour campaign infomercial for her. Between the obvious political agendas, her Presidential disposition rising above the political infighting, and hypebeasting courtesy of the internet and social media, what should have been a serious congressional inquiry turned into the GOP getting “Meeked” with Hillary playing the role of the 6 God.
I mean Hillary overwhelmingly won this thing. It was amazing to watch. To paraphrase Donald Trump supporters, “She Fights!” as she stood up for her people and her job performance while simultaneously managing to look sympathetic as everyone was left to wonder why yelling at her over Sidney Blumenthal or who she spent the evening with had to do with taking preventative steps from making sure this doesn’t happen in the future.
She was prepared, took every question, and was surprisingly expansive. She’s 68 and seemingly breezed through what ended up being a 10 hour ordeal. George W. Bush, for comparison’s sake, only allotted one hour to talk to the 9/11 Commission. 100 days out from the Iowa caucuses, Hillary is as much the frontrunner for the Democratic nomination as ever. Biden’s out, she won the debate, and the GOP is still the GOP.
