It’s Really Love: Meek Mill and Nicki Minaj
Last night, I mentioned how my favorite player (yeah, I said it) in the NBA, DeMarcus ‘Boogie’ Cousins might have something to look forward to with new Coach—George Karl running things in Sac-Town. Today, I switch over to someone who’s absolutely balling off the court…MMG’s fire-spitter, Meek Mill.
Meek Mill
Just finishing up a 5-month stint in prison for violating his probation, Meek came back like he never left.
He has a certified banger in “B Boy” alongside the likes of artists Big Sean and A$AP Ferg, accompanied with a… “festive” video I might add.
Another track conveniently titled, “The Get Back,” got everybody “doin’ it for the ‘gram,” and above all else… he’s bagged arguably the baddest chick in the game in Young Money’s first lady—Nicki Minaj. Now I don’t know if Meek was calling Nicki collect from the Philly prison, if they were gettin’ it in during the “I Be On That” video shoot (see below), but regardless this has to be the greatest bounce back from jail we have ever witnessed in hip hop history. *clap hands emoji for Meek Milly.
Nicki Minaj
After Onika’s public break up with Safaree, Scaff Beezy, SB whatever the hell his name is, it seemed like the whole music industry (mainly hip hop industry) was as thirsty as ever trying to get a piece. I mean heck, even on her hit single “Only,” Drizzy begins his verse with “I never f***ed Nicki cause she got a man, but when thats over then I’m first in line.”
Before being disgustingly cute all over her Instagram, when asked about Meek Mill rumors, Nicki in an interview with Vogue Magazine noted “Sometimes we hang out, and when we hang out, we have fun. [laughs] This is what I want to say about him: People think for some strange reason that we just started becoming friends recently. We’ve been friends for a very, very long time, and he’s been around for a lot of things that I’ve gone through. And that’s all I’ll say about that.”
Well if that’s too vague (or shall I say ‘Vogue’) then the simple fact they were completely boo’d up court side at nearly every event this past All-star weekend should be proof enough. Interesting to note that Nicki a year or two ago on her song “High School” spit “This box better than the box that he was held in.” Foreshadowing??? Maybe. And if you even needed MORE confirmation, at a sold out show at the Best Buy theater this weekend, in which Meek and Nicki performed, segueing into his next track, Meek quickly blurts out, “I don’t really be with all that Instagram s**t, I don’t really be Instagrammin’ my personal life but Nicki—that’s my motherf****n’ baby.” (see below)
So, I think we can all agree on the following two conclusions:
1) It must blow to be Safaree
2) Step aside “Kimye,” Meeky Minaj is here to stay. Nicky Mills? Omeeka? I dont knowwwwww mannnnn.
Oh. And props to Meek for calling this like 5 years ago. Watch the video below to see what I mean.
