Ray Allen Had To Be Laughing At The Celtics “Reunion”
Kevin Garnett gathered the core members of the 2008 Celtics title team on his Area 21 show on TNT. It’s apparent they were and are still upset Ray Allen left in free agency to join Dwyane Wade and LeBron James in Miami. Paul Pierce, Kendrick Perkins, Big Baby Davis, and Rajon Rondo and explained how the relationship soured.

Youngins ice-grilling me; oh, you not feeling me?
Fine, it cost you nothing; pay me no mind
Look, I’m on my grind, cousin, ain’t got time for frontin’
Sensitive thugs, y’all all need hugs

Ray Allen Has To Be Laughing
Why are Ray Allen’s former teammates, all grown men, sitting on television crying about his departure from a team that won a single championship ten years ago? Why would they not at least have him on to defend himself? My guess is there was a one ring maximum on the set.
Kendrick Perkins and Big Baby are not good enough to carry Ray Allen’s jock strap. Why did Ray Allen’s name even come out of their mouths?
What we know is that the Celtics had been trying to trade him and he was losing minutes to Avery Bradley so what’s the matter with him going to another team? Anyone?
What we also know is that the “way Ray left” made these guys salty, but it’s clear the championship he won with Miami’s “Big Three” (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh) have made them extremely bitter. It’s unbecoming of “champions”.
Ray Allen had to be somewhere laughing because he was the first to leave that sinking ship. Nothing more. Nothing less. KG, Pierce and Rondo left Boston the first chance they could get with all three forcing trades to other teams. Green is the color of the Celtics. It’s also associated with an emotion emanating from all members of that panel.
