New York Values Means Ted Cruz Is Finished

Duck Dynasty does not embody New York values.
I’m from Baltimore and lived in New York for eight years now, Brooklyn for five. I’m a Baltimorean at heart and I will always love Baltimore, but New York is awesome. It 100% represents what’s great about America. Excuse my language as I can get a bit effusive in praise of the five boroughs.
New York Values
You hustle hard here or you don’t make it, and you do it big. Terrorists want to knockdown architectural marvels that reach to the sky embodying what we are able to do in this great nation? New York builds taller ones and more of them. New York moves on because it doesn’t get intimidated or scared. Refugees? Come on in. Terrorists? We’ll take our chances. New York helps big. Fuck terrorists.
Immigrants documented or not? They’re my neighbors in gentrified Bushwick. My spanish is good enough to know that. I see mom, dad, a slew of kids at the grocery store getting groceries. Dad looks like he’s in construction, mom stays at home and takes care of the kids as I don’t think they’re paying for a nanny or a babysitter. They pay with their EBT card and you know it’s helping them eat, pay rent, bills and send their kids to school. Tax dollars? So the fuck what? New York helps big. Fuck taxes.
Fuck Ted Cruz
New York places a high emphasis on education and learning, which is why it has a lengthy history of producing leading intellectuals of all political philosophies (Ayn Rand, William F. Buckley, Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X) even though the city at large is liberal progressive. Cruz is Princeton undergrad and Harvard Law. He knows this as he has many of his former classmates are here.
New York City is the central hub of business worldwide. Cruz loves his “New York values” money as Philip Bump points out. Is Cruz taking the money without the values? Fuck Ted Cruz.
Cruz is the guy who hates LeBron because he’s bigger, faster and stronger than him, plays for a winning team in the NBA, and is on his way to becoming a billionaire, but he watches every game hoping LeBron fails. Like LeBron, no one should let New York live rent free in their heads as Cruz does. Why is he talking about Andrew Cuomo and Bill De Blasio in a Republican primary? Like Lebron and a random hater, New York is not worried about Cruz or any other single individual. New York is big. Ted Cruz? Fuck Ted Cruz.
While it’s always going to be an applause line to bash New York with conservatives, “New York Values” blew up in Cruz’s face when Trump disarmed the topic in such an impactful way invoking 9/11 and the spirit of New Yorkers. 9/11 widower James Smith wants to show Cruz the ropes about the city:
“I was disappointed by your disparaging remarks about New York values somehow being different from Iowa and New Hampshire values,” Smith wrote. “I invite you to come to the National 9-11 Memorial and Museum and see for yourself, and perhaps learn something about, the values of New Yorkers.”
He’ll have to make time for that at a later date. Cruz is now facing his first lawsuit questioning his eligibility to serve as President of the United States. 85 year old Texas lawyer and Bernie Sanders supporter Nelson Schwartz has filed the suit. I don’t think he has standing, but this was Trump’s point about it being an issue.
Also, it looks like he has failed to disclose a second campaign finance loan from 2012. When you diss New York, you diss your self.
