If I Were A Betting Man, This Is What I’d Do: NFL Week 5
This is what I would do this week if I were a betting man. I would’ve been 8-7 last week if I had bet. That would make me 30-23 on the season.
If I Were A Betting Man
We now have 4 weeks of results with week 5 bringing again bye weeks and the end of suspensions. This is what I’d do if I were betting:
Arizona at San Francisco (+3.5)
The underdog is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. Carson Palmer looks concussed and Arizona has generally looked awful. I’d take San Francisco.
New England at Cleveland (+10.5)
The over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. Brady is back and points will be scored. I’d take the over of 46.5.
Philadelphia at Detroit (+3)
The over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings. The home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. I like Stafford and Wentz to put up points, but Detroit can be a tough place to play for a rookie. I’d take the Lions and the over 46.
Tennessee at Miami (-3.5)
The under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Miami. The underdog is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. The road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. Mariota and Tannehill aren’t lighting up any scoreboards, but I like Tennessee’s running game and defense more than Miami’s. I’d take Tennessee and the under 43.5.
Washington at Baltimore (-3.5)
The favorite is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings. The under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. I expect defense to reign in the beltway rivalry and the Ravens to defend their home turf after a tough loss last week. I’d take Baltimore and the under 46.5.
Buffalo at Los Angeles (-2)
The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings. The road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings. Buffalo should be riding high after beating New England last week, and both teams have defensive reputations which means a low total. I’d take Buffalo and the over 40.
San Diego at Oakland (-4)
The underdog is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 meetings. The Chargers can’t close, but Oakland struggles at home. I’d take San Diego.
Tampa Bay at Carolina
The Buccaneers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings. The number is not out at time of publication, but I’d take Carolina.
