I Got You: Week 1 Fantasy Recap
We’re in 8 leagues. These are our thoughts week to week.
Fantasy Record 1-7
Quarterbacks
I ended up with Rodgers, Jameis and Romo. The “worst” performance was Jameis and he got 18 points making him a starter in 16 team leagues. We’re confident in our quarterbacks.
Running Backs
My running backs across multiple leagues are Melvin Gordon, Jonathan Stewart, Andre Ellington (autodrafted twice) and T.J. Yeldon. Gordon looks like he might be in a timeshare with Danny Woodhead but had his moments in spite of the fumble, and Andre Ellington is out 1-3 weeks after a decent performance. Jonathan Stewart looked ok in a win and T.J. Yeldon also looked ok though Jacksonville’s offense. We are looking for, and will need, more from these guys as they are explosive three down guys (with he exception of Ellington who I was actually low on).
Wide Receivers
My wide receivers across multiple leagues are Odell Beckham, DeSean Jackson, Charles Johnson, Alshon Jeffery (autodrafted), Jarvis Landry and DaVante Adams. Jarvis Landry ended up having a huge day, but we got a whole lot of nothing from everyone else. The DeSean injury is for 1-3 weeks, but hamstrings are never good. Bridgewater looked awful which was terrible for Charles Johnson. James Jones threw a wrench in DaVante Adams’ plans.
Tight Ends
Gronk was featured in the red zone and between the 20s. He ran after the catch and the receiving corp is thin in New England. Double digit points from Gronk weekly should be the standard.
Week 1
It’s one week and there is no need to panic. Look for viable replacements for DeSean and Dez Bryant. Make sure you reintegrate LeGarette Blount and think about bailing on Allen Robinson, but hold strong on T.J. Yeldon of the Jags. I was looking to see improvement from their offense, but it indeed looked terrible with Rashad Greene leading in targets.
