How To Make Carter 6 into the ‘Barter 6’
Recently, Young Thug took to his IG to let the fans know that he will be changing the name of his anticipated mixtape, “because these f**k a** n****s tryna sue” and my gut is telling me he’s referring to Lil Wayne’s people attempting to place a lawsuit against him. The original title of his mixtape was to be named “Tha Carter 6,” an obvious reference (and some might even say jab) at Weezy’s Carter series. The tape will now be titled Barter 6 which Young Thug refers to as a nod to his Blood gang affiliation.
Weezy VS. Birdman
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 5 months, then you’d be aware of the feud between the Young Money general himself, Lil Wayne and his adoptive father, Brian “Baby” Williams more commonly known as, Birdman. It all started when Birdman refused to release Weezy’s Carter V, leaving Weezy to threaten that he’d sue him along with Cash Money Records (which he did) for app$51 Million. All this raucous has led to a bunch of public jabs sent by Wayne, most noticeably on the Young Money Cypher but once word got out that Young Thug was naming his next project “The Carter 6” it seemed like a direct slap in the face to Wayne from Birdman and Young Thug.
Weezy VS. Young Thug
This of course resulted in Lil Wayne calling out Young Thug at his next concert yelling, “Stop listening to songs of n****s who pose naked on their motherf***ing album covers.” Surprisingly enough, Thug took somewhat of a high road on his Instagram account mentioning that although Wayne may be “frustrated with his career,” that Young Thug will never choose to beef or swap words in a negative context with Lil’ Wayne as he has been Young Thugs idol for a while now. Hmm, all this doesn’t seem to add up. Maybe this is all Birdman behind the scenes pulling the strings on the puppet that is Young Thug? Yeah, makes sense. We’ll see where this goes.
