Fantasy Football: 1st Pick
Fantasy Football: Draft Primer
Round 1, Pick 1
I love Jamaal Charles and LeSean McCoy, but I’m taking Adrian Peterson with the 1st pick. Quite simply, he is the best running back in the game bar none. It doesn’t matter whether it’s Ponder, Cassel or Bridgewater, Peterson is going to get his.
Round 2, Pick 24
The top three quarterbacks were gone. My Top 5 wide receivers were also gone. I chose Randal Cobb here. Again, in spite of popular belief, he and not Jordy Nelson is the number 1 in Green Bay.
Round 3, Pick 25
Here, I was choosing between one of my targeted receivers in Victor Cruz or tight end Julius Thomas. I chose Thomas for the fact that he is the goal line option in a touchdown scoring offense.
Round 4, Pick 48
I didn’t really like my range of options here. I believe Stafford is the #4 quarterback behind Manning, Brees and Rodgers. He normally throws for 5,000 yards and is now running the old Sean Payton/Drew Brees offense in Detroit.
Round 5, Pick 49
I drafted Trent Richardson here at 5. Again, I am of the opinion that he will have a bounce back year. The vick Ballard injury and Donald Brown leaving for San Diego means all of the carries are his.
Round 6, Pick 72
I was looking wide receiver here, and Reggie wayne fits the bill of my criteria. He is the lead receiver in a good offense, and he looks to be completely healed from his ACL tear.
Round 7, Pick 73
Steven Jackson seems to be falling in drafts due to his age and injury concerns. I still see him as the lead back and; most importantly, the goal line back in a good offense.
Round 8, Pick 96
At this point in the draft, the wide receivers with the most value are rookies. I got Sammy Watkins here and was extremely happy for it was slim concerning receivers if he was drafted. At this point, i probably should’ve taken victor cruz instead of Julius Thomas in round 3.
I immediately handcuffed Devonta Freeman (9th) to Steven Jackson. I then reinforced my receiving corp by drafting Carolina’s primary receiver in Kelvin Benjamin (10th), and the receiver opposite Reggie Wayne in the forgotten Hakeem Nicks (11th). Finally, I handcuffed Ahmad Bradshaw (12th) to Trent Richardson and took Tennessee’s Shonn greene who is likely to be the starter there. Bishop Sankey is rated much higher, but he is viewed as a change of pace back by most of the league.
