Culturebroker Radio MusicCast Ep #5 : Randy Austin, Boston, Ithaca

We’re just as randy as they are about the music.
Austin musicians Andrew Molever and Michael Bridgett choose choose recent songs from artists from three different locations in an attempt to showcase the sounds the world is making. Your town. Your scene. Your music. The Culturebroker Radio Musicast sonic guidebook can help get more artists heard and enjoyed. You’re busy. Let us help you track the tracks.
Andrew and I decided to sample sounds of some places we had traveled to and turned out a playlist filled with horn heavy bands from Ithaca, NY; Boston, MA; and Austin, TX.

Big Mean Sound Machine – The Warning (Live in Studio)
With everything from ska to reggae to hip hop, we get to have a little fun with some great grooves from particularly talented musicians. In fact, I even tossed in some links a few links to live performances from Big Mean Sound Machine, Those Nights and Viva La Hip hop. One of the major aspects that separates musical projects in a world of auto tune, laptop studios, and inexpensive recording equipment is the ability to deliver in real time. This can mean expertly playing fantastic music, creating an incredible live experience, or even things we haven’t seen yet. More festivals are popping up all the time as a testament to our hunger for music that can touch us directly.
Support Local Music
Despite being in a society that is always lauding those that do what they love, we often forget how easily we can contribute and build around that very premise. The life of a musician is hard, but it can be so rewarding with just a little support and appreciation from those that love what you do.
