Clinton Email Investigation Part Two Is Still Nothing
According to NBC’s Pete Williams, this is not a reopening of the email investigation as technically it was never closed. The Comey letter was sent to the Hill out of an abundance of caution and to be extra thorough. There is no sense that any of this was due to withholding of evidence as the new “Clinton email” was discovered on a device carried by Anthony Weiner as a result of a federal probe into his latest sexting scandal. The emails have nothing to do with Hillary Clinton, the State Department, nor emails sent or received by the Clinton Foundation.
The FBI director gave testimony to Congress on the matter, and the messages in question were not on Hillary Clinton’s private server. They will analyze those messages and the congressional testimony will be amended. The FBI also stated that it wasn’t even sure if the information was “significant” but that it was doing its duty to announce that it came across this information. The investigation being “reopened” was language used by the House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz and not the FBI.
Clinton Email Investigation
I know these are facts and facts don’t seem to matter nowadays, but my best guess is that this will all be forgotten by Monday as it turns out to be nothing. Fiction can be fun, but for those that prefer the reference section, this is where we are as far as this “new” investigation is concerned. As a Hillary Clinton supporter, to see her opponents get so excited and happy about an “FBI investigation” even before all of the details were released leads me to believe they are extremely desperate.
Don’t get me wrong. There are “potentially” thousands of emails that could be from Clinton about anything, but these were not “on her server.” The FBI is not supposed to comment on ongoing investigations, and especially not right before an election. If I were a conspiracy guy, I would look at this obvious Hatch Act violation by FBI Director James Comey as evidence of clear collusion with Trump, Jason Chaffetz and other Republicans. Not my style though. I’m just interested in facts.
