Choppin’ It Up: Episode 9 – NBA Comparisons
Choppin’ It Up with Adrian Prelvukaj picks up right where we left off last week. With long time friend and NBA enthusiast Francis Tefarikis (Francois for the French) discussing basketball, basketball, and some more basketball. In part 1 of this revolutionary podcast, we tapped into our main common interest– The New York Knicks. With the 100 million dollar man, Amar’e Stoudemire finally leaving the big apple, it left a smile on my face but on the contrary leaving “Frank The Bank” (yes he’s a man of many monikers) with a bit of a sour taste in his mouth. We concluded part 1 just getting started on the whole Syracuse University basketball drama, and thats conveniently right where we began in part 2.
The ‘Cuse
Having entered SU in 2009, I could remember exactly where I was the day Francis contacted me to let me in how avid of an orange fan he’s been his entire 23 years on this earth. Ever since then, there hasn’t been a Big East matchup (now ACC) where I don’t receive a text from him or vice versa. So it goes without saying, we had a lot to say about the recent developments going on in Central New York.
Me personally, I feel self-imposing a postseason ban on the basketball program, although unconventional, is the most logical course of action the orangemen can take. With arguably the weakest team they have assembled in a decade, Syracuse might as well punish themselves this year in hopes to be smooth sailing in the future when they have a more established roster from top to bottom.
NBA Comparisons
To end things off in the most fun way possible, I consolidated a list of extremely comparable players in the NBA. Just to give an example I ask Frank to decide who he’d want to build a franchise around between LaMarcus Aldridge or Blake Griffin, DeMarcus Cousins or Anthony Davis, Goran Dragic or Eric Bledsoe you get the picture. Listen in to hear who he picks and why. Catch more “Choppin’ It Up” next week.
