Choppin’ It Up: Episode 6 – UFC 183 and ‘The Playcall’
Greetings to all “Choppin’ It Up” listeners. Welcome to another glorifying 30 minutes of me rambling on about my favorite topics …alone. Last week I had the pleasure of introducing you all to some of my floor-mates from my freshmen year of college with Elijah Jevons and Kevin Downing. Kevin’s voice figuratively (and literally) was faint, but he chimed in wherever he felt necessary. Eli was a knowledgable guest that really taught us (me) more about the sport of UFC. This podcast picks up right where the last one left off discussing the UFC 183 main event between Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz.
I became a semi-fan of the sport once I finished watching the UFC pay per view, but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth once I discovered Anderson Silva tested positive for steroids. Listen in to understand why it was so frustrating to finally appreciate the sport for its technique and craft only to find out that the “legend” that drew me to the sport freakin’ CHEATED! Anyway… I made sure to mention topics I actually have some knowledge on.
If you read my piece on the 2015 All Star Weekend, you’d know I released my predictions for whom I felt DESERVED to make the all star team. And I emphasize DESERVED because eastern conference guys like Kyle Korver and Brandon Knight DESERVED to make it over south beach’s own Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade. And the same goes for Boogie Cousins and Damian Lillard, although they both eventually “made it” thanks to injuries by Blake Griffin and The Black Mamba.
As far as the grid iron is concerned, I touched on the two most talked about issues in the game today. Josh Gordon’s continued acts of immaturity along with the infamous play call in Super Bowl XLIX.
As much as I am of Josh Gordon’s, I cant find myself to sympathize with him, he continuously fails his fans, his family, and most of all himself. Simply put, he needs to grow up. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this half hour of Choppin’ It Up. ‘Til next time.
